A brief introduction:

Jeep drive through the narrow Astore gorge is unique, enroute enjoy great views of the beautiful southern panorama of Nanga Parbat. A two day trek from the road head village of Tarshing takes us to the beautiful camp of Shaigiri, where a climb of Shaigiri (5690m) provides magnificent views down the entire Rupal Valley.

We walk through the scenic Rupal Valley, and meeting people in the summer settlements, with fresh water, fire wood and superb views of the Rupal Face of Nanga Parbat.

Itinerary:

Day 01  Islamabad:

Arrival in Islamabad. Transfer to hotel.

Day 02  Islamabad – Chilas:

Drive by coach to Chilas 12-14 hrs onKarakoram Highway, night hotel.

 Day 03  Chilas – Tarashing:

We drive by jeeps and we turn off the Karakoram Highway entering the

narrow Astor gorge reaching Tarashing (7-8 hrs). We will have the first view

of the eastern precipice of Nanga Parbat, night in Camp.

Day 04  Tarashing  – Bazhin Camp:

Bazhin camp (3650m) We will trek through Rupal valley, walking  6-7 hrs

along the terraced fields of various grain crops and enjoying ever hanging   views of Nanga Parbat, night camp.

 Day 05  Bazhin Camp – Shaigiri Camp:

Shaigiri camp (3660) We cross the morains of the Bazhin Glacier and trek through green pastures of juniper and birch to Latboh. Above us is the

clossal Rupal Face 4500m tall stretching almost the full length of the

mountain     with its 8 Km long Mazeno ridge extending before us.We trek

through forest of willow and birch to our camp at Shaigiri, night camp.

Day 06-08  Shaigiri Peak climb:

Shaigiri Peak climb / Descend to BC 03 days free to explore and climb

Shaigiri Peak(5690m) and descend back to the camp, night camp.

 Day 09   Shaigri Peak –  Rupal:

Trek back to Rupal Village Overnight camp.

 Day 10  Rupal – Tarashing – Gilgit:

Trek to Tarshing Village and drive jeep to Gilgit. Overnight in hotel.

 Day 11   Gilgit – Hunza Karimabad:

Drive to Hunza. Afternoon free for leisure. Overnight hotel

 Day 12  Karimabad Hunza:

Full day hike to Ultar Valley/ Day Hike to Duikar and back to Karimabad. Overnight hotel.

 Day 13 Karimabad – Gilgit:

Half  day sightseeing around Hunza Visit Atta abad Lake and drive to Gilgit, night hotel.

Day 14 Gilgit – Naran:

Drive to Naran via Babusar pass,  Overnight hotel.

Day 15 Naran – Islamabad:

Continue drive to Islamabad. Overnight hotel.

 Day 16 Islamabad:

Transfer to airport for your home flight.

Services included:

• Process of import/export permit from ministry of tourism.
• Assistance upon arrival/departure.
• Hotel accommodation in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Chilas and Hunza and Gilgit.
• All meals during trek and at B.C. as per itinerary.
• Porterage of 50 kg per person of expedition equipment and high altitude food etc. to the B.C. and 25 kg per person on return from BC.
• Road transfers between airport/hotel and within city as per itinerary.
• Sleeping tents, mattresses, mess, kitchen and toilet tent with tables/field stools and camping ground fees.
• Kitchen equipment, crockery, cutlery, fuel and related community gear.
• Wages and basic kit of guide, sirdar, cook and assistant(s).
• Insurance of our field staff and low altitude porters (except helicopter rescue).
• Porterage at airports, hotels, toll taxes and parking fee etc.
• Mail handling/forwarding to BC/overseas except postage charges.
• Reconfirmation of air tickets.
• Hiring of HAPs, mail runner(s) and any other crew as per requirement. (Wages and kit to be arranged by the team).

Services not included:

• International & domestic airfare, airport tax, excess baggage charges.
• Surface transfers in case of flight cancellations to the kick off point.
• High altitude porters/any crew above BC.
• Tents, sleeping bags, personal and climbing equipment of any kind beyond base camp including high altitude food and oxygen.
• Medications, ground evacuations and helicopter rescue charges of any kind.
• Room services, laundry, beverages, phone/communication bills and items of personal nature.
• Insurance liability of member (s) and other under force majeure conditions.
• Clearance of cargo and clearing agent’s charges before arrival of the team and its storage.
• Any other service not included in above list.
