Georgia Promise Scholarship offers up to $6,500 per year for K–12 Georgia students from low-performing schools; apply April 1 to 30, 2025.

Who is Eligible?
- Residency: Parent or guardian must have lived in Georgia for at least 1 year (military families exempt).
- K–12 Enrollment: Student has attended a Georgia public school for at least two consecutive semesters or is a rising kindergartner.
- Low-Performing Schools: Must reside in or be zoned for a public school in the bottom 25% performance list (released by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement).
- Income Priority: Families below ~$120,000 (400% of federal poverty level for a family of four) receive first consideration. Higher-income families can still apply if funds remain.
- Non-Public Enrollment: Award recipients cannot attend a public or state charter school simultaneously.
- No Overlapping State Scholarships: Students using other Georgia K–12 scholarships (e.g., Special Needs Scholarship or SSO) are ineligible.

- Documentation:
- Proof of Georgia residency (e.g., driver’s license, utility bill).

- Agreement: Sign a commitment not to enroll the child in public school for the funded year and use funds only on approved expenses.
Success Rate (~4–5%)
The program is limited to about 21,000–22,000 total awards statewide, while hundreds of thousands may be eligible. Applying early with complete paperwork improves your chance.
